Secondary stage (Grade 9 to 12)
The Secondary Stage at VIS Godhra offers a four-year, multidisciplinary learning journey designed to help students explore their interests, deepen subject understanding, and prepare confidently for higher education and future careers. Building on the strong conceptual base of the Middle Stage, learning at this level emphasizes critical thinking, academic depth, personal aspirations, and flexible subject choices.
In Grades 9 and 10, students engage in broad curricular exposure through Essential Courses across key areas such as Science, Social Science, Humanities, Mathematics & Computing, Languages, Arts, Physical Education, and Vocational Education. This structure ensures a strong foundation and balanced understanding across disciplines. Students appear for board examinations in each curricular area at the end of Grade 10.
In Grades 11 and 12, students design their own academic pathways by choosing specialized subjects aligned with their interests, strengths, and career goals. With no rigid streams, students enjoy the freedom to combine disciplines across science, commerce, humanities, arts, and vocational fields. Subject experts guide students through advanced coursework, skill development, and higher-order reasoning.
The Secondary Stage at VIS Godhra nurtures independent thinking, academic excellence, and life readiness, empowering learners to make informed choices and transition smoothly into university programs, professional pathways, or vocational pursuits.
Higher Secondary stage (Grade 11 to 12)
The Higher Secondary Stage at VIS Godhra offers students exceptional flexibility and academic depth as they prepare for university pathways and future careers. This two-year phase follows a choice-based, multidisciplinary model, allowing learners to design a personalised academic journey aligned with their interests, strengths, and aspirations.
Students select subjects from eight broad Curricular Areas, with each subject offered as a semester-long course. To complete Grade 12, students must finish 16 choice-based courses, ensuring both breadth and depth in learning. They must choose subjects from at least three different Curricular Areas, and when selecting a particular discipline—such as Physics, History, Philosophy, Computer Science, or Music—they complete four courses within that discipline to gain strong foundational knowledge and disciplinary skills.
The curriculum offers a rich blend of academic, vocational, artistic, and interdisciplinary subjects, including options like Sustainability, Media and Journalism, Indian Knowledge Systems, Sports Science, and more. This structure encourages students to explore multiple fields while building expertise in areas that match their future goals.
Assessments are conducted through Modular Board Examinations, replacing the traditional single annual exam and allowing students to demonstrate their learning progressively. Subject experts guide learners through advanced concepts, inquiry-based work, and real-world applications, helping them make informed decisions about higher education and career choices.
At VIS Godhra, the Higher Secondary Stage empowers students with choice, autonomy, and academic rigor, preparing them for success in universities, professional courses, and vocational pathways in an evolving global landscape.
